On the evening of September 3, 2018, at around 6:30 p.m., a small child was kidnapped outside of Jimmie’s Chicken Shack. 3-year-old Ivory Keegan had been on an outing with her nanny, standing outside of the chicken shack when she was abducted by a man and a woman who had approached her by car. Keegan is described as having blonde hair and blue eyes and stands at roughly 3’2” in height. She has fair skin and was wearing a white tank top and white shorts at the time of her abduction.
The female kidnapper was initially described as having white hair and an eyepatch, many tattoos, and had “thick thighs and breasts”; the male kidnapper was described as being tall, thin, and appearing to be Japanese. The male was also described as having black hair, piercings, and wearing eyeglasses—possibly prescription—and a suit.
The couple were seen driving an old, 1992 Cadillac with Michigan license plates and approached the child who was seemingly unattended while playing in the rain. The couple were also approached by a witness, another slightly older child, whose name is unknown. This child was not taken during this abduction and it is unclear as to whether or not Keegan was targeted specifically or if the couple simply did not want to take both children.
The passenger side door of the Cadillac had been struck and ripped off by a passing truck prior to the couple fleeing, which seemed to take place once the child’s nanny and the other witness had realized what was taking place. Prior to fleeing, the male produced a handgun and it is unknown whether or not his intent was to scare or physically harm either of the two witnesses.
Upon being interviewed by police, the child’s nanny was able to identify both kidnappers via these HPD mugshots, belonging to Kiryu HIdeyoshi, 30, who is notably the suspected ringleader of a local religious cult, and Peninnah Aisley, 27, who has been charged with three separate kidnappings and two attempted kidnappings this year alone.
An Amber Alert has been issued for little Ivory and has been in effect since the kidnapping took place. As of now, it is currently unclear of what Aisley’s relationship is to Hideyoshi or what their suspected ‘cult’s’ motive would be behind kidnapping these children. Citizens are urged to report any sightings of either of these two suspects to the HPD immediately as they pose a grave threat to the children of Hathian.
