Recently the Hathian Observer had the chance to sit down for an exclusive interview with local musician and rising star Cash ‘The Don’ Ramirez. In the first part of the interview, we spoke to him about recent rumours regarding releases and being one of the most sought after unsigned musicians in Hathian at the moment.
As I walk up to the ramp to the Pier Shack, I can see Cash sat there looking to be in a relaxed mood, baseball bat in hand, I inquire if he is expected trouble, and he responds with, “Yeah y’know, Haters,” a reference to the recent online spat with a troll who seemingly had not just made comments about Mr Ramirez, but had also seemingly made threats of violence against him, it was easy to see why he may feel like he needed protection.
I sat and we got around to Hathian, and the fact that ever since Katrina there had been little help for the area from Bush Jr, right the way up to the current Trump administration, and Cash was quick to point out that you have to build your own empires and give back to the community that made you the person you are, because our leaders only abandon us, a hand gesturing towards the Hathian coastline that even after all this time has still seemingly not shown all that much recovery from that catastrophic event.
Hathian Observer: “Thank you again for coming out so soon after I made contact for this interview. So where would you like me to begin? not sure how in depth you would like the interview to be.”
CaSh ‘The Don’ Ramirez: “Well you told me that you had some things you wanted to ask..about my being in the studio currently and something else that you found interesting. So we can start there. “
Hathian Observer: “So rumor is that you’ve been seen around 1313 recently and that you are in the process and writing new material to go with the couple of new songs you played at a recent small unpublicised show and that you may be part-way through recording backing tracks for your next album some time later this year? Another rumor is that a certain Doctor has been seen around Louisiana looking to sign Hathian’s hottest new artist to his label?”
CaSh ‘The Don’ Ramirez: “Thats kinda right, I’m actually finishing up older songs that I kinda don’t know what to do with right now but, I have the lyrics for a whole new record written out already. I haven’t started tracking the vocals just yet on THAT material”
“Word? I don’t know anything about that, no ones contacted me yet..they might be doing it ninja style on that.. But if the Doctor wants to make me an offer… we can definitely talk”
Hathian Observer: “We could see you release the old material ahead of the newer material, kind of like a retrospective of your early career before you release the next album?”
CaSh ‘The Don’ Ramirez: “Why dont you come over to my studio sometime..You can hear some of the stuff I am working on before anyone else does, cool? Just go ahead and call the studio when you would like to come over. Thank you for your support…”
Hathian Observer: “Thank that would be great thank you”
