Lured in by promises of entertainment, beauty, and in some cases, brains, Hathianites came out to District 8 on Sunday afternoon to catch the first round of the Pearl of Hathian beauty pageant. Contestants were asked to perform a talent for the crowd, and afterwards, were asked a question by MCs Ollie Schippers and Alexia Rousseau of the Clam Convenience Store, the event’s sponsor. Citizens will be able to vote for their favorite in a booth outside the store on Berthier Street starting today.
While a few contestants were unable to attend due to scheduling conflicts, the rest of Hathian’s lovely ladies came ready to play:
Krystal O’Neil, Hathian Police Department – Detective Division: using her gun, shot a can off of someone’s hand.
Mercy Bellerose, Hathian Releaf: performed a hula dance to an Elvis folk song.
Alexandra Markus, Berthier Street Bakery: performed a monologue from Breakfast at Tiffany’s.
Matsume “Su” Dawson, Hathian General Hospital: performed a piece on the violin.
Destiny Jones, Garage Gym: danced a unique array of moves.
Jasmine Hands, Hathian Motors: sang a cover song for the crowd.
Tiffany Starr, Venus Productions: picked a luck gentleman from the crowd and gave him a lap dance.
Grey Jameson, The Pie Hole: performed a stand-up comedy routine.
Penelope Pickles, The Poison Apple: Danced in the daft punk style.
Gidge Delaney, Brun Dug: played violin and sang an original song.
Roisin O Conaill; The Daily Grind: performed a fitness pole dance (non sexual).
Lozza Weymann, Lou’s Bar: played her guitar and sang a cover song.
Ra’na Halldorr, Hathian 24 Hour Pawn Shop: shot a bow and arrow, striking the bullseye.
Riley Thomas, Hathian EMT Department: told a comical joke/story.
