On the evening of July 21, 2012, Hathian’s Police Officers were called to the scene of a multiple shooting incident on Bourbon Street. A witness across the street from the shooting, phoned 9-1-1 and reported it.
When police arrived on scene, they found four women; two standing and two on the ground with gun shot wounds. Of the wounded women, one had a gun shot wound to the shoulder and the other two gun shot wounds to the leg.
Reportedly the shooters fired at both women in self defense, after one brandished a knife and slashed one of the shooters on the shoulder.
Much time passed as the two wounded women laid bleeding out on Bourbon Street, but police did find a knife next to one of the women who had been shot. Once an ambulance arrived, they were placed under arrest and taken to Hathian General Hospital to be treated before being taken to the police department and charged with their crimes.
Not much is known about why the fight originally started, but it is believed to be a gang related issue.
